The un-perk of being a student at the University of Utah is that your friends live all around the valley. It’s hard to plan things when you live half an hour away from each other and everyone is busy with school and work. We were excited when we were finally able to get together this weekend with Natalie and Tyler for a quick paddleboarding trip at Jordanelle Reservoir. We literally had to put it in our phone calendars a month in advance.
King’s Peak has been on my bucket list for a while. We’ve been trying to do it for a couple years, so this year we finally just said, “Let’s put it on the calendar and make it happen!” Little did I know what I’d signed up for.
I love state and county fairs. I love seeing all the homemade items and food stuffs. It signifies the coming of fall, another beautiful time of year. (Let’s face it, I just like every season.) I also loving petting zoos and seeing all the bunnies and chickens on display. Maybe someday I will participate in a fair.
The day after the Summerfest, we drove up to Bear Lake to get in some more water skiing. Once again we beached half of us and took turns on the boat. Bree and Ben had rented some paddleboards from the U for the weekend, so Colton and I spent a lot of time on them.
Yet another one of Bountiful’s summer traditions is the Bountiful Summerfest. Dancers and performers from different countries are hosted by families around the area. The countries vary each year, but often include countries from both Europe and Asia.
Once again, headed back to Main Street. You’re getting to know Bountiful’s Main Street quite well. Another annual tradition is the Main Street Sidewalk Days. When Sidewalk Days happens, all the stores put out their merchandise on the sidewalk, a radio station comes and hosts the event, and there are great sales all around. I really should go to some place other than The Book Garden on Main Street, because there are many cute stores and food places I should go experience. But The BOOK GARDEN, guys! Doesn’t the name just sound inviting enough?
