So, my husband and I like weird things that no one else seems to know about. Recently we developed an interest in Bonsais. We purchased our little bonsai tree a couple months ago, and thankfully it is still alive. We heard about the Utah Bonsai Club having a Bonsai Show at Red Butte Gardens, so naturally we really wanted to go.

Being students at the University of Utah, we were able to get into the show for free. One of the perks of paying thousands of dollars to the football team… Ahem. The bonsais were completely amazing. Some were as old as 150 years old, and had been in ‘training’ for 30+ years. I wish I had the time to just grow a billion bonsais!

We voted on our favorite tree, then walked around the gardens. Red Butte has a lot of land, but unfortunately only daffodils were in bloom right now. The setup of the garden is going to be so beautiful in the summer, however, so we promised ourselves to go back every season (expect another post sometime in the future. 🙂 )

We enjoyed a nice stroll through the landscaped gardens, dreaming of the day when we can have lots of land ourselves for gardening.
