Attempted Narrows Trip

Colton and I left our rainfly off because it was such a warm evening. I haven’t been desert camping in such a long time. Mountain camping is fun, but it’s so cold all the time. It was amazing to be able to look at the stars through my tent and only need my sleeping bag for warmth. It was amazing to wake up in the morning and not shiver even once, and get out of my sleeping bag to the same temperature of air. I woke up a while before everyone else and I just walked around our little campsite and marveled at the little details of the desert.

Tin Boats and Elk Bones in the Tetons

Last weekend we went on a trip to the Tetons. Basically all we knew was that we were hoping to get a backcountry camping permit, and hopefully we could get canoes to take us there. So we loaded five people’s worth of gear (me, Colton, Bree, Ben, and our new friend Marcus) into my dad’s Land Cruiser and left on Thursday evening. We left fairly late in the day, so half of our drive was in the dark.

Historical Wind River Range

never been. After little research and basically pointing our fingers to the map of some mountains, we decided on the Wind River Range in Wyoming. Googling some pictures of the area convinced us this was our place, the pictures seemed absolutely beautiful. This would be our first camping trip as a married couple, and we were super excited for our first adventure!
