So I have a lot of posts lined up to write but we’ve been busy because it’s spring!! Crocuses have popped up, our indoor seeds are sprouting, and we’ve had a string of 50° weather that have made my daily walks with Teddy more enjoyable. Yesterday though, we had a giant rainstorm and the most beautiful rainbow appeared over the valley when the sun came out from behind the clouds on it’s way to a gorgeous sunset. It was one of the brightest, full rainbows I’ve ever seen. I remember reading a children’s book when I was younger and it told you how to find rainbows: if the sun comes out while it’s still raining, turn your back toward the sun and you’ll find your rainbow. I felt like that was a secret that should have been told to me the moment I learned how to talk. We get the best kinds of rainbows too. There’s something magical about living in a valley because if the sun comes out while it’s still raining, it’s usually around sunset and there’s a beautiful sunset glow on the Eastern mountains. Yet there’s still a cover of gray clouds blanketing the sky, and the rainbow always appears in front of the mountains, glowing in the sunshine and contrasting with the clouds, and you really can pinpoint where the end of the rainbow is.
I’ve yet to take a photo where it did the rainbow justice, but here are some phone pictures.
Colton pulled over on his way home to take a photo.
Rainbows are my favorite thing in the world. Everytime I see one I stop what I’m doing to go stand in the rain and think about leprechauns hiding their gold. My next favorite thing is probably spring flowers. This is such a beautiful time of year. Even seeing snow on new bulbs is pretty.
Happy beginning of spring!!
P.S. I’ve been busy redecorating my studio and setting it up so it functions smoothly for shipping my artwork. Here’s a sneak peak of a corner with beautiful photos from @helloemilie light from Target. Frame is from IKEA.
